ENROLMENT PROCEDURE

Enrolment is accepted on a first come, first serve basis, subject to limitations set by the School Meeting. The following are the steps involved for becoming enrolled:

STEP 1 - Set Up an Admissions Interview: call 416-693-0110 or email info@thebeachschool.org
The purpose of the Admissions Interview is to ensure that both parents/guardians and their child/ren have a full and complete understanding of the Sudbury Philosophy and the operation of The Beach School, and that they are fully in agreement with and committed to this educational model.

STEP 2 - Visiting Period
Before fully enrolling, students must complete a Visiting Period, generally lasting two weeks.  During these two weeks, the Visiting Period is free of charge and allows the student to experience The Beach School culture.  To facilitate this, students and parents must complete and sign an Application Package. If the Visiting Period is extended beyond two weeks, there will be a fee of $100/child for each additional week. This fee will be payable in advance on a weekly basis and is non-refundable. During the Visiting Period the prospective enrollee attends The Beach School, is subject to The School's policies and rules and has all of the rights and responsibilities of an enrolled student with the exception of the right to vote.

STEP 3 - Enrolment
At the end of the Visiting Period, a brief post-visit conference with the Admissions Committee is required to ensure the student, parents and school community are comfortable with the enrolment. To finalize the enrolment process, the family submits to the school a fully-executed Enrolment Package together with post-dated tuition cheques and annual co-op membership fees of $10 per person for both students and parents. Once these have been received by the Admissions Committee, the student will be fully enrolled.
